Whonix is a specialized operating system based on Debian GNU/Linux, that installs as an app on your existing OS (Windows, macOS …), engineered to provide high-level anonymity and security through a dual-virtual machine architecture. The system isolates the user environment within a “Workstation” VM, while all network traffic is forced through a separate “Gateway” VM that exclusively utilizes the Tor network.
