High porosity, biodegradability, and biocompatibility make nanocellulose-based composite aerogels versatile in various applications. The study prepared a nanocellulose-based composite aerogel using cellulose nanofibrils, tannic acid, and polyvinyl alcohol, showing excellent adsorption capacity for heavy metal ions.

Our summary: This study evaluated the impact of different dehydration methods on the drying efficiency, nutritional and physico-chemical quality of strawberry slices. PEF pre-treatment improved drying efficiency and quality, with PEFFD samples showing better retention of shape and volume.
