Abstract: Flexible perovskite solar cells (FPSCs) hold great promise for lightweight and wearable photovoltaics, but improving their efficiency and durability under mechanical stress remains a key challenge. In this work, we fabricate and characterize flexible planar FPSCs on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET). A phenethylammonium iodide (PEAI) surface passivation layer is introduced on the perovskite to form a two-dimensional capping layer, and its impact on device performance and stability is systematic[...]

Our summary: Enhanced efficiency and mechanical stability achieved in flexible perovskite solar cells through PEAI surface passivation, leading to improved device performance and durability under mechanical stress. Integration of PEAI treatment with optimized ETL and HTL layers enhances efficiency and flexibility, paving the way for reliable and high-performance wearable solar cells.

Size Effect of CsPbBr3

Published on 2025-07-09 by Ying Lv, Menghan Duan, Jie An, Yunpeng Wang, Luchao Du @MDPI

Abstract: Lead halide perovskite quantum dots, also known as perovskite nanocrystals, are considered one of the most promising photovoltaic materials for solar cells due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties and simple preparation techniques. The key factors restricting the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar cell systems are the separation and transmission performances of charge carriers. Here, femtosecond time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopy was used to measure the interfacial charge t[...]

Our summary: Lead halide perovskite quantum dots show promising photovoltaic properties due to their optoelectronic features. The study analyzes the impact of CsPbBr3 size on charge transfer dynamics with TiO2 using ultrafast spectroscopy. Results indicate slower electron transfer and recombination as CsPbBr3 nanocrystals increase in size, suggesting potential for improved solar cell materials.

Enhanced Charge Transport in Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells via Electrodeposited La-Modified NiOx Layers

Published on 2025-07-08 by Lina Aristizbal-Duarte, Martn Gonzlez-Hernndez, Sergio E. Reyes, J. A. Ramrez-Rincn, Pablo Ortiz, Mara T. Corts @MDPI

Abstract: This work explored an electrochemical approach for synthesizing lanthanum-modified nickel oxide (NiOx:La) as a hole transport layer (HTL) in inverted perovskite solar cells (IPSCs). By varying the La3+ concentration, the chemical, charge transport, structural, and morphological properties of the NiOx:La film and the HTL/PVK interface were evaluated to enhance photovoltaic performance. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) confirmed La3+ incorporation, a higher Ni3+/Ni3+ ratio, and a valence ban[...]

Our summary: Electrodeposited NiOx:La layers were explored as a hole transport layer in inverted perovskite solar cells, showing enhanced charge transport and improved photovoltaic performance. XPS confirmed La3+ incorporation and improved p-type conductivity, while impedance spectroscopy indicated lower resistance and higher carrier density with NiOx:La 0.5%. The resulting cell achieved a PCE of 20.08% and retained 80% of its initial efficiency after 50 days, demonstrating the potential of NiOx:La as a promising HTL for efficient and stable IPSCs.
