Electroplating

Electroplating is an electrolytic surface-finishing process that deposits a controlled metallic layer onto a conductive substrate by electrically reducing metal ions from a formulated electrolyte onto the workpiece (cathode). It is employed in conception de produits, research and production to provide functional and aesthetic benefits—corrosion and wear resistance, enhanced conductivity or solderability, and decorative appearance—while enabling precise control of revêtement thickness and composition. Key process variables—bath chemistry, current density, temperature, agitation and anode/cathode configuration—determine deposit quality and are managed to meet performance, cost and regulatory requirements.
