Size Effect of CsPbBr3
Published on 2025-07-09 by Ying Lv, Menghan Duan, Jie An, Yunpeng Wang, Luchao Du @MDPI
Abstract: Lead halide perovskite quantum dots, also known as perovskite nanocrystals, are considered one of the most promising photovoltaic materials for solar cells due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties and simple preparation techniques. The key factors restricting the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar cell systems are the separation and transmission performances of charge carriers. Here, femtosecond time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopy was used to measure the interfacial charge t[...]
Our summary: Lead halide perovskite quantum dots show promising photovoltaic properties due to their optoelectronic features. The study analyzes the impact of CsPbBr3 size on charge transfer dynamics with TiO2 using ultrafast spectroscopy. Results indicate slower electron transfer and recombination as CsPbBr3 nanocrystals increase in size, suggesting potential for improved solar cell materials.

Chiral Recognition of Carnitine Enantiomers Using Graphene Oxide-Modified Cadmium Telluride Quantum Dots
Published on 2025-07-08 by Haiyan Yuan, Yu Ma, Yuhui Zhang, Jidong Yang, Zhiyuan Mei, Chengcheng Pi, Yuan Peng @MDPI
Abstract: Carnitine (CA) is a chiral amino acid and mostly comes from meat and dairy products. CA cannot be found in fruits, vegetables, or other plants, so vegetarians are deficient in CA. CA exists in the form of D-carnitine (D-CA) and L-carnitine (L-CA); only L-carnitine has biological activity. L-CA promotes the oxidation of fatty acids and then causes the effect of weight loss. In this study, the fluorescence probe was established by using graphene oxide-modified cadmium telluride (CdTe) QDs (GO-CdTe[...]
Our summary: Chiral amino acid carnitine comes from meat and dairy, not fruits or vegetables. L-carnitine promotes weight loss by oxidizing fatty acids. Graphene oxide-modified cadmium telluride quantum dots used for chiral recognition of carnitine enantiomers.

Patent published on the 2025-07-03 in WO under Ref WO2025144532 by INTEL CORP [US] (Huang Duanni [us], Su Guan-lin [us], Mehta Karan [us], Yerkes Shane [us], Dehghannasiri Razi [us], Dobek Stanley [us], Cramer Marcus [us], Frish Harel [us], Rong Haisheng [us])
Abstract: Hybrid silicon quantum dot laser (HSQDL) structure including an optical waveguide of a first width, a mesa of a second width and a current channel of a third width that is smaller than the second width. In some examples, the third width is only slightly larger than the first width to narrowly confine electrical current directly over the optical waveguide while the third width is significantly larger than the first width to efficiently transport heat away from the optical gain medium. While the c[...]
